WaDenzi Productions was founded in 1984 soon after Barbara and David Denz were married, and while they were living in Kodiak, Alaska. It's been the informal parent corporation for all things artistic the pair have undertaken ever since. The name was a "gift" from Donald Westlake's book Kahawa: an African Novel, a comic mystery novel with coffee at its core. The fact that coffee was at the center of things appealed to David.
